Alright so it’s been a while, but I am back to watching pilot episodes of new series and reviewing them and letting you all know if the show would be worth it or not and here we are with the pilot review for the series titled “all rise.”
All Rise follows judges, prosecutors, and public defenders in an L.A courtroom. The series stars Simone Missick, Wilson Bethel, Jessica Camacho, J. Alex Brinson, and Marg Helgenberger.

Firstly, I liked the pilot, it moved very fast and introduced all the players in the game accordingly and wonderfully. However, the show like “For the People” lacks that extra push to make this show spectacular but unlike “For the People” all rise, shows us glimpses of what a great show this could become.

The first episode is pretty interesting as it shows us that there are good people in the American justice system who are trying to fight “for the people” who actually need the law on their side but the interesting part for me is how Simone Missick’s character Judge Lola fights the battle. On the one hand, she has this ethical code/the law that she has to serve, uphold and protects but on the other hand she knows that it’s this very law that takes away the years and lives of people of colour due to it being designed to be against them from the get-go. And her battles with her ethics and morals are clear from this pilot and man Simone Missick is such a talent and strong lead.

Overall, this show has major potential and from the glimpses of greatness, I’ve seen All Rise could be the next great courtroom TV show because we really do need one for this generation. I recommend this fast-moving, okay written, and greatly performed series.
