I think Solange took a huge artistic leap with the video SZA. The repeated frames symbolize how repetitive our actions are and the fact that the video is so similar to Cranes symbolizes how unoriginal our stories really are. When people get into relationships, they so often believe they have accessed a deeper truth to what being with another is when in actual fact, they are just dancing in a parking garage in nude underwear. The muted colour filter contrasting with bright colours in the actual scenes (red, blue etc) shows us how dull our stories are to other people. The story of being in a relationship where a guy is stringing along several women is one of the most common narratives for a woman.
    Watch it for yourself
